Can you share a link to the new driver? I can't seem to find anything except a driver update in my system updates that will not install. The other drivers that I can find online are from October and I feel like that is the one that caused all of this in the first place!

You have the right driver from Realtek.  I realize it says last update "October" but I can tell you without doubt it's been updated since then.  I installed this same driver like 10  times the first week of my problem and it did nothing. However, when I tried it earlier this week, it worked and fixed the microphone issue.  I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but I'm betting they updated the code ever so slightly and didn't update the date.  Run the HP installation check of your hardware and reinstall the sound drivers, plus any other packets it recommends and it should work, but with the caveat that everyone's situation can be slightly different.   Good luck!

Have you checked Win. 11 security settings for microphone?   A Win. 11 update caused us problems until we tracked it down to security setting turned off microphone.
