HP ENVY Curved All-in-One - 34-b110

Have had this computer for years.  Regularly connect my work laptop via HDMI cable to the HDMI input slot as this monitor is much larger.  Occasionally, loud horrible popping noises happen through the all in one speakers whenever I toggle over to the work laptop using the button on the back, even when I disabled them as a sound option on my work laptop.

I've tried running the troubleshooter through windows, I've updated all the drivers, windows update has no updates, I've tried different HDMI cables, I've used compressed air to clean out the ports, I've run the HP troubleshooter three times....

I'm at wit's end.  This loud popping sometimes makes the computer unusable for work purposes, and I can't do my job without it.
