HP Recommended

I can't get the second monitor to work on this computer. The HDMI connection works but not the VGA. I have tried new cables and an HDMI to VGA adapter but that doesn't work either. Even the monitor that came with it won't work using the VGA port but monitors will work in the HDMI one. But i the second monitor is plugged in when you turn it on that won't come on until the other is unplugged. It can't detect the second monitor. I've only had the computer a week.
