For the last few years, I have used a desktop connected (with a HDMI switch) to both an Asus monitor and a Sony HDTV so that I can stream movies from the computer on a TV screen. However, since the desktop updated to Windows 11, the computer no longer recognizes either the monitor or the TV as an audio output.

After contacting Windows support, we were told that the HP Audio Drivers installed on the computer are no longer compatible with Windows 11.

Has anyone else experienced a similar problem? If so, how have you resolved it?

What model HP do you have?  Is all audio lost or just the media player has a problem?

There may be a problem with the drivers but more likely the settings are not correct and the audio device is  either not selected or is hidden.

If your sony HDTV is smart or you have a ROKU you should be able to cast to it from your PC.
