HP EliteDesk 800 35W G4 Desktop Mini PC

I just purchased HP EliteDesk 800  G4 Mini computer second hand on Amazon.  It has Windows 11 installed.  Everthing working except it does not recognize Sony TV speakers.  I attached an HP monitor and same result.  It did not recognize the external monitor speakers.  Video is fine.  It has a VGA port and I attached to the Sony TV and then also the HP monitor using VGA cable and same result.  Video fine but the computer does not recognize the external speakers.  I went on HP website a reloaded the most current audio driver and no improvement.  Don't know what to try next.

You can't get audio from a VGA port.

The notebook has display port outputs (at least two of them).

See page 2, items labeled as #1 for the location of these ports.

Buy a display port to HDMI cable and use that to connect to your TV.

This one is 2 meters (6'6") long for example.

I use a 3' one for my HP 800 G3 DM to connect to my Best Buy Insignia 22" TV.

Sound and video work great from the TV speakers.
