When I purchased this computer, it was supposed to come with DTS Headphone:X capabilities. I recently received the HP Omen Headset 800 which boasts:
Multi-dimensional audio
Select the custom DTS Headphone:X® profile built into most OMEN PCs for a heightened surround sound experience.
I cannot find any of the DTS settings on this computer whatsoever. Did a recent driver override these features? Or do I need to download and buy the DTS software via Microsoft store for 9.99 ? I thought there would be some kind of settings or control panel that custom tailored the headphones to the Omen desktop

Welcome to HP Communit
y
I have gone through your Post and would like to help
As per the Specifications: https://support.hp.com/ee-en/document/c06385121#AbT4, there is no mention that the HP Omen Obelisk comes with the DTS Software. It has the Hardware capability but the Software did not come along as per the Specs
Thank you

Hello, thank you very much for your help. The linked specifications shows me
- Audio Codec: ALC3866-CG
- DTS Headphone:X
- High Definition (Azalia) 5.1 channel audio support
- Audio jack presence detection
After searching on google, all HP Omen Obelisk 875 configuration manuals (slightly different numbers):
https://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetPDF.aspx/c06334391.pdf
https://www8.hp.com/h20195/V2/GetPDF.aspx/c06444690
http://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/getpdf.aspx/c06334363.pdf
http://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/getpdf.aspx/c06379536.pdf
http://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/getpdf.aspx/c06451179.pdf
All come with "Audio DTS Studio Sound™, DTS Headphone:X™"
DTS Studio Sound: Enhance your listening experience for all your games, videos, and music. Experience deep bass and clear dialogue at maximum volume without any distortion
DTS Headphone: X technology: By producing authentic, spatially accurate 3D sound through any headphones
or earbuds, this technology gives games, movies, and music a level of depth and immersion for the best entertainment experience possible
I'm a little confused when you say my computer has the hardware capability but not the software. Are you saying that even though on the HP Omen Obelisk product page, it markets these DTS sound features, along with all the manuals I've listed, HP does not provide the necessary software? That does not make much sense to me. Can I download this software somewhere on HP? Thank you

Please download the DTS Sound Unbound software from the Microsoft Store : https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/dts-sound-unbound/9pj0nkl8mcsj?activetab=pivot:overviewtab and check if that helps

Hello I have downloaded that app. It shows
But over searching previous threads, I was expecting these features to be built-in to the settings like this:
Or like this per this thread: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebooks-Archive-Read-Only/dts-audio-control-panel-equalizer-settings...
In fact this seems to be the standard for omen products. Except my computer does not have anything that looks like this. I've updated all drivers per my omen drivers' page (all realtek drivers, etc).

So I need to pay for the DTS app? Something doesn't seem right here. I paid quite a bit for this gaming computer, and it didn't come with the DTS sound configuration built in? I've never seen that before; especially other competitor desktop/laptops. In Lenovo products, they came loaded with dolby home theatre ie the application was built in. Are you absolutely sure in what you say? In that Omen 875 desktops require the user to pay for the DTS app in the microsoft store as the only way to access it? Has anyone else with the 875 had to go this direction?

The App is free on the Microsoft Store https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/dts-sound-unbound/9pj0nkl8mcsj?activetab=pivot:overviewtab

Hello, Yes I am aware it is free to download. But as seen in the first screenshot I attached a few posts back, there are costs to use it.
Again, I was under the impression that HP built in this software so it was Plug-and-play upon arrival especially after marketing its features all over the Omen product page and the attached manuals. There is even a press release regarding this: https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/dts-headphonex-audio-technology-integrated-in-hp-omen-x-gam...
Is it possible that you do not have the complete info and could be mistaken? Is the HP-tailored software not available somewhere within HP's library?
