@loveablejohn, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

The error message "The exception unknown software exception {0xe0434352} occurred in the application at location 0x0000000076AFDD22" indicates an issue with the HPAudioSwitch.exe program. This error can be caused by several factors, including corrupt system files, outdated drivers, or compatibility issues.

Restart Your Computer:

  • Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches causing the error.

Update Audio Drivers:

  • Ensure your audio drivers are up-to-date. You can do this via Device Manager or manually from the HP website:
  • Device Manager:
    • Open Device Manager.
    • Expand the 'Sound, video and game controllers' section.
    • Right-click on your audio device and select 'Update driver.'

Run System File Checker:

  • Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
  • Type sfc /scannow and press Enter. This will check for and repair corrupted system files.

Reinstall HPAudioSwitch Program:

  • Uninstall the HPAudioSwitch program via Control Panel.
  • Download the latest version from the HP support website and reinstall it.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Make sure your Windows operating system is up-to-date.
  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update. Click on 'Check for updates.'

Compatibility Troubleshooting:

  • Right-click on HPAudioSwitch.exe, go to Properties > Compatibility.
  • Run the compatibility troubleshooter and follow the prompts.

I hope this helps.
