Hi @Bassix,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I understand your HP All-in-One 24-cr0000a has stopped outputting sound through the headphone jack, even though it was working previously. Let’s go through a few steps to troubleshoot this.
1. Check Headphones
Test your headphones on another device (phone, tablet) to confirm they are working.
Try a different set of headphones on your PC to rule out a headphone issue.
2. Check Volume & Output Settings
Click the speaker icon in the system tray → ensure volume is not muted.
Right-click the speaker icon → Open Sound settings → under Output, make sure the correct device (Headphones) is selected.
If headphones don’t appear, proceed to the next steps.
3. Replug and Restart
Disconnect the headphone.
Shut down the PC completely.
Re-insert the headphone and power on the PC.
4. Check Sound Drivers
Press Windows + X → Device Manager → Sound, video and game controllers.
Right-click your audio device → Update driver → Search automatically.
If already updated, try Uninstall device → Restart PC, Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.
5. Run Windows Troubleshooter
Go to Settings → System → Sound → Troubleshoot.
Follow the prompts to detect and fix audio issues.
6. Check Audio Jack Hardware
Inspect the headphone jack for dust or debris and clean gently if needed.
Test the front and rear audio jacks (if available) to see if one works.
7. Check BIOS / Audio Settings
Restart the PC → press ESC → F10 to enter BIOS.
Navigate to Integrated Peripherals / Audio Settings → ensure Audio Controller / HD Audio is enabled.
Save and exit BIOS.
I hope this helps.
