Compaq Presario 5417de
Microsoft Windows XP

In order to use an old software version along with a specific piece of hardware, I need to setup a PC with WinXP. I have an old Compaq Presario SR5417de. I installed WinXP, but now I need the device drivers especially the high definition audio bus driver, PCI driver and SM bus controller driver. Any idea where I can find these drivers for XP running on that Presario Desktop PC ?

Hi:

Below is the link to the XP chipset driver for your model PC.

Install and restart the PC.

https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/9701/en-us

Audio:  If you are running XP SP2, then you need to first install this driver and restart the PC.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp32001-32500/sp32395.exe

Then install the Realtek audio driver from the link below.

If you are running XP SP3, then you can go right to installing the Windows 2000/XP audio driver from the link below.

Accept the agreement.  Download and install the XP driver listed, and restart the PC.
