I have speakers with my Samsung monitor that I have been using with an Acer desktop, but I just got the HP Pavilion Desktop, and it says no audio output is connected. What is going on and how do I get them to work?

Thanks in advance!

@PopIns1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your new HP Pavilion Desktop

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It seems like you're experiencing an issue with connecting your existing speakers to your new HP Pavilion Desktop. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Check Physical Connections

  1. Audio Cable: Ensure the audio cable is properly connected to both the monitor and the HP Pavilion Desktop. Check if it's plugged into the correct audio port.
  2. Correct Port: Ensure you are plugging the audio cable into the right audio output port on both ends.

Set Default Playback Device

  1. Right-click on the sound icon in the taskbar and select Playback devices.
  2. Check if your Samsung monitor or the speakers are listed here.
  3. If they are listed, select them and click Set Default. If not, you might need to enable them by right-clicking and showing disabled devices.

Update Audio Drivers

  1. Visit the HP website and download the latest audio drivers for your HP Pavilion Desktop.
  2. Install the drivers and restart your computer.

Check System Settings

  1. Control Panel: Go to Control Panel, and under Hardware and Sound, select Sound. Ensure the right playback device is selected.
  2. Sound Settings: Verify that the sound settings on your Samsung monitor are configured correctly, as some monitors require settings adjustments to output sound correctly.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
