Microsoft Windows 11

The in-built speakers have stopped working on my all-in-one PC using Windows 11.  I have run a diagnostic test and it says No Speakers Found (hardware problem detected).  I can't test the audio because its not highlighted so therefore can't click the 'unable to hear audio' button.  I was in touch with Microsoft yesterday and although very helpful it didn't work.  I got in touch again and it was a different person who was no use whatsoever! I have tried getting in touch with HP to no avail. I was wondering whether reverting back to factory settings would be an option?  This is really beginning to frustrate me now as I've been trying to sort this out for hours.  Any ideas anyone ?

Product: HP All-in-One PC 24-df1000i (1W762AV)

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

I am posting this solution I discovered that although it refers to a different HP product. It worked in moments for me after going around the houses with the HP 'Assistant'.

From Kkwb01;

Just reiterate that the problem was no sound from Bang & Olufsen speakers on HP Envy ALL IN ONE 27 B205NA

Tried the fix on this thread but it didn't work for me,

But this did:

  • Open Device Manager (Open the start menu, type Device Manager and press enter) and select System Devices (close to the end of the list).
  • Locate Intel Smart Sound Technology driver (SST).
  • Right-click and select Update Driver from the pop-up menu.
  • Choose browse my computer for driver software and then Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer and select High Definition Audio.
  • Click Next.
  • Intel Smart Sound Technology (SST) driver will disappear and you should have Audio back.

And there it is.  Source https://mspoweruser.com/how-to-fix-the-no-audio-output-device-is-installed-error-after-the-windows-1...

Thanks for your reply.  I have probably tried everything you can think of.

I have been in touch with HP and talked through Messenger and we have tried all sorts in over two hours!  At one point I thought my computer had had it completely! Anyway after trying to reset it and it wouldn't do it, they are going to take it away and try and fix it as it is still under warranty.

Thanks for your time though 🙂
