Since there isn't a board for the HP integrated monitors (Webcam/Speakers/microphone built in) I think this would be the best forum.

I recently purchased an HP EliteDisplay E243M monitor.. at first  the webcam would not work. Spent SEVERAL days figuring that out. Now I have a microphone issue. I made my first phone call via Facebook Messenger, I could hear them... but they could not hear me.  I've updated several drivers and I'm still in the same boat.  The integrated speakers and the webcam work fine, now its just the mic.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hello

now that you have connected the USB cable to make the webcam working, via USB , even the MIC should be  working.

probably you have to configure which is the  default MIC in your system, as I don't see in Messagger a way to select bewteen MIC when you have more than one in the system.

if the default MIC is set to MIC connected to audio jack of your PC , it will not use the MIC integrated with the CAM ,so you have to change Default MIC the one integrated with the WEBCAM.

bye

Thanks for the reply "Try to do my best".

I eventually got it working that next morning by hooking up an actual DJ mic to the back of the monitor. The computer recognized it by finally showing I had a mic installed. Where it did not before.  But the audio wasn't fully functioning as it should.  So I then went into "Settings"... "Time and Language" then "Speech" ..  to set up the mic for speech recognition and it recognized my voice.  I was able to unplug the DJ mic and I was still good to go.  Not sure if it just needed a little nudge or not, but it worked.

Thanks
