Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi all.

I'm having a frustrating problem with several HP Pro SFF 290 G9 desktops where they are missing the HD audio (HD Audio Driver for Display Audio).

From what I can see, in Device Manager, there are two instances that are faded out when "Show Hidden Devices" is enabled with a Code 45.

I managed to get it to a point when I install an Intel graphics driver and the sound seems to work with the devices in Device Manager appear. After the computer is rebooted, the devices revert back to Code 45 again. Not ideal.

I did an experiment where I installed Windows 11 to see if it behaved the same. From that test, the sound worked perfectly through HDMI after several reboots. From what I can see, there must be something in the background that prefers Windows 11 to Windows 10.

There are some suggestions online that I have to install the latest chipset drivers first before the Intel graphics driver. I did this but still same end result.

Just as a side note, Windows is installed via our WDS server, and have tried installing the drivers via this method.

The BIOS is up to date also.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks
