@JD486 -- I had been shouting 'Alexa' at my PC but nothing had happened, apart from other devices in other rooms answering!

 

When you installed Windows 10, did you "allow" Alexa to be active all the time?

 

 there must be a built-in mic despite everyone telling me there isn't.

 

I agree, since you say it works with Zoom.

 

With "Audio Settings" in Windows, check the "Audio Input" settings, to confirm that the "active" audio-input is the microphone, not something else, such as "line-in".
