Beats audio is no longer functioning after win 7 reinstall. Can you help me find a replacement driver for download and reinstall?
HP no longer supports this computer - they took down the support and files on the website. So, it is not available there.
Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi:
This reputable 3rd party driver website that I use for PC's no longer supported by HP, has the W7 audio driver you need:

That was an awesome reference to a driver library. Still having issues with the audio driver. The recommended driver was rejected.
I restored the system and the current driver as listed in the device manager shows "NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device (Wave Extensible) (WDM)." Which is not working. No driver updates available according to HP an MS.
The CPU is an AMD FX-8100 8 core 64 Bit and the graphics card is an nVidia GeForce GT530 Graphics card.
This workstation is my main video and sound editing station. Let me know if you need to be compensated for the time involved. Thanks Again.

You're very welcome.
Unfortunately, I don't know why the W7 audio driver didn't work because it should have been supported.
What devices are showing up in the device manager under the Sound, video and game controllers device manager category?
The NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device (Wave Extensible) (WDM) device is for the graphics card's HDMI port.
Is that the only device present under that device manager category?

You're very welcome.
It appears that the IDT HD audio device is completely missing from the device manager and that is what should be showing up if the driver had worked.
The driver probably didn't work because it could not find an audio device to install on.
Since the driver didn't work, there should have been at least a High-Definition audio device, or elsewhere in the device manager, a multimedia audio controller listed with a little ! mark next to it under an Other devices category.
One other thing you can try in order to get the onboard audio to show up and that would be to install the AMD chipset driver for W7 that is used for your PC' chipset. Restart the PC after installing the driver.
You want the first one listed under the W7 x64 driver section.
If that doesn't work, you may want to invest in a low cost PCIe x1 audio card if your PC has an available PCIe x1 expansion slot.
Amazon.com: PCie X1 Audio Card
The product specs for your PC indicate that it has 3 available PCIe x1 slots.

Greetings once again! Thanks for all the links - very helpful. A check re: your comments on drivers. The attached shows multimedia device drivers. There are two High Definition Audio Controllers which are duplicates.
And error message when right clicked to get properties. Both controllers generated the same message.
Should some of them be uninstalled?
Then try the HP audio driver after?
The notes about alternative methods to get the audio working are understood. A bit nervous about switching to AMD CPU drivers though.
Thanks for your help again,
John

You're very welcome, John.
Yes, I would try uninstalling both of those ! multimedia audio controller devices, and if there is an option to uninstall the drivers check that box too.
Restart the PC and see what the result is.
Then try to reinstall the audio driver I posted for you.
