Pavilion 23-f250 AIO
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The microphone no longer works on my AIO Pavilion 23-f250.  It used to but I'm not clear on when it stopped.  I thought it was the headsets I was using but it will not work as the built-in.  Troubleshooting detects no problems but Settings>Sound>Input will not let me test the microphone - as if it's not there.  Device is enabled, controller is Realtek High Definition Audio.  Driver properties>General says the "device is working properly".  Driver date is 6/14/2017 version 6.0.1.8186 - also had the 6/30/205 v6.0.1.7548 before and had the same problem with that.  Properties>Levels sound is at 80.  Properties>Enhancements are all unchecked.   Properties>Advanced have default format of 2 channel, 16 bit, 48000 Hz (DVD Quality), and boxes checked under Exclusive Mode.   I've also tried several headsets, earphones and the mic doesn't work with anything.

Any tips on what else to try?  I have enjoyed this AIO but will have to replace it if I can't get the mic to work.

@akjazz Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the Microphone does not work on AIO 23-F250.

Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

  1. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

  1. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
  2. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
  3. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also, ensure Windows is up to date.

Please update the BIOS.
