HP Pavilion Gaming 790-0031
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

All microphones I try to use (both USB and jack connections) are detected by windows, but don't register any sound. I've already followed every step on the support pages here (https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03421813) and here (https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c05942024). And yes, I've verified that microphones work on other computers.

The only thing I can think of that might be related is that I am using an HDMI connection to my monitor, and I've had some audio playback trouble with that in the past.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

If you remove that HDMI connection to your Monitor does the Microphone work?
