OMEN by HP Desktop PC - 870-210se CTO
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I have been having issues with my OMEN computer. I have tried multiple methods for the Realtek Audio Driver, and I have reinstalled, uninstalled the driver, and updated the driver but to no avail. Apparently, I am consistently missing 'Realtek-RealtekHSA.inf'. I tried downloading the HP Drivers, but still, I did not have the file in my System32 File Repository. Are there any other attempts I could make to restore my audio?

@That1SmartGuy, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If you're encountering issues with your Realtek audio driver on your OMEN by HP Desktop PC, and the specific file 'Realtek-RealtekHSA.inf' is missing, there are a few steps you can take to try and resolve the issue:

HP Support Assistant: Ensure you've run the HP Support Assistant. This tool can help identify and install the latest drivers specific to your HP device which might not yet be available via Windows Update.

Manual Installation:

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page.
  • Enter your PC model number (OMEN by HP Desktop PC - 870-210se CTO) to search for available audio drivers.
  • Download the latest Realtek audio driver offered by HP for your specific model.
  • Before installing, make sure to disconnect from the internet to prevent Windows from automatically updating the driver during this process.
  • Uninstall any existing audio drivers through Device Manager, selecting the option to delete the driver software for the device.
  • Restart your PC.
  • Install the previously downloaded driver manually.

Windows Update:

  • Make sure that your Windows operating system is up-to-date since some driver issues are resolved through updates that improve system compatibility.

Device Manager:

  • Open Device Manager, expand 'Sound, video and game controllers'.
  • Right-click on Realtek High Definition Audio, select 'Update driver'.
  • Choose 'Search automatically for updated driver software'. Ensure that you are online to facilitate this process.

Disable Audio Enhancements:

  • Go to Sound settings, right-click on your audio device, and select 'Properties'.
  • Under the 'Enhancements' tab, check the box for 'Disable all enhancements'.

BIOS Update:

  • Verify whether there is an available BIOS update for your device on the HP Support page. An outdated BIOS can occasionally cause hardware compatibility issues.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
