Did you make any software or hardware changes to your PC?
As you mentioned the sound plays distorted from your PC.
Please uninstall the audio driver from device manager and install the latest audio drivers and BIOS on your PC and check if it helps.
Go to windows desktop
Hold Windows key + Letter R key.
Run dialog box would open type devmgmt.msc
Device manager window will open.
Expand Audio and inputs.
Right click on the audio Realtek HD Audio driver and click uninstall.
Restart your PC.

I am so thankful for the solution you suggested. Now I am enjoying my music. In fact I have a Bose speaker and was wondering why the sound was so distorted and the playback was getting slow. Thank you and thank you. You're a true blessing!!!

You know what ... last night I was very happy with my computer ... sound was playing really good. Today I played some music and the same problems are back. Sound is distorted and playback is getting slower. Maybe my desktop's audio card is bad. I still have the warranty until October 2017. Can I replace this at the store where I bought it? I hope I can.
Please advise. Thanks.
