New 27" Omni All In One cannot find audio devices in Device Manager....audio does not work. Audio worked out of the box. after two weeks the audio icon showed an X over it and the Message "No Audio Device is installed" was seen upon hovering over the icon. Checking Device Manager showed that no Audio device drivers were installed. Since the computer could not find any hardware, the device drivers had disappeared. Two days after the first incident and lots of troubleshooting, the sound came back on for two days. Then disappeared again and I have no audio.

@GDanny, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your new All-In-One!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I understand how frustrating it must be to deal with an audio issue that keeps coming and going, especially on a new device. Let's try to get this sorted out for you.
Since your HP Omni All-In-One initially had working audio but later started showing "No Audio Device is installed," it sounds like the system may be having trouble recognizing the audio hardware. Here are a few steps you can try:
Run the Windows Audio Troubleshooter
- Click on the Start menu and type Troubleshoot settings, then open it.
- Scroll down and select Playing Audio, then click Run the troubleshooter.
- Follow the on-screen instructions and see if Windows detects and fixes the issue.
Check Device Manager for Hidden Audio Devices
- Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
- Click View at the top and select Show hidden devices.
- Expand the Sound, video and game controllers section.
- If you see your audio device but it's grayed out, right-click it and select Enable.
- If it's missing completely, proceed to the next step.
Reinstall Audio Drivers
- Open Device Manager again.
- If you see any "Unknown Device" under Other devices, right-click it and choose Uninstall.
- Visit the HP Support website and enter your device details to download the latest Realtek High-Definition Audio Driver (or the appropriate driver for your model).
- Install the driver and restart your computer.
Check Windows Updates
Sometimes, updates can remove or modify drivers. To ensure everything is up to date:
- Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for any pending updates.
- Install all updates and restart your PC.
BIOS Update & Reset (If the issue persists)
If none of the above solutions work, check if there’s a BIOS update available for your device on the HP Support website. Updating the BIOS can sometimes fix hardware recognition issues. You can also try resetting BIOS to default settings by restarting your PC and pressing F10 during boot to enter the BIOS menu.
Let me know how it goes! If the issue persists, we can explore additional options, including hardware diagnostics.
Looking forward to your update. 😊
Take care, and have an amazing day!
