Does the HP Envy TE01-1287cb no come with any audio/sound? Do I actually have to purchase speakers to hear anything?

Hi:

 

Yes, you need to purchase a set of PC speakers.

 

I don't know of any tower-like consumer desktop PC that has a built in speaker...HP, Dell...

 

Only the business desktop PC's have a speaker inside the case.
