Hi @bg7771,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating it is when your HP Desktop suddenly loses audio, especially after trying everything you can think of. Let’s go through the most effective steps to restore sound on your HP Desktop TP01-1:

Step-by-Step Fix

1. Check Playback Device

  • Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar → Sound settings.
  • Under Output, make sure the correct device (e.g., Speakers – Realtek High Definition Audio) is selected.
  • If it shows “No audio device,” proceed to driver reinstall.

2. Reinstall Audio Driver

  • Open Device Manager → Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
  • If you see Realtek Audio or similar:
    • Right-click → Uninstall device (check “Delete driver software”).
  • Restart your PC.
  • Download the latest driver from HP: 👉 HP Pavilion Desktop PC TP01-1000a | HP® Support
    • Enter your exact model and install the Audio Driver.

3. Enable Audio in BIOS

  • Restart → Press Esc or F10 for BIOS.
  • Under Advanced > Device Options, ensure Audio is enabled.
  • Save and exit.

4. Run Windows Audio Troubleshooter

  • Settings > System > Sound > Troubleshoot.
  • Follow prompts to fix configuration issues.

5. Update Windows & HP Drivers

6. Check Physical Connections

  • If using external speakers or headphones:
    • Test with another device.
    • Ensure cables are fully inserted into the green audio jack.
