Pavilion All-In-One 27 xa0650nd
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After a few days the sound on Pavilion all-in-one stopped working.

  • OS Windows 10 v2004 up to date
  • Checked and updated all recommended drivers via HP support function
  • Under device manager I see an error for Intel High definition Audio. Cannot update the driver and deleting it does not solve the issue. I see that Realtek Audio and NVIDIA Virtual audio device are OK and up to date
  • The HP support function for audio problems does not find any problem. Two identical devices are found: Realtek Audio RTKVHD64sys. Intel is not mentioned
  • HP audio switch shows speakers and microphone as connected
  • No viruses or other malware present.
  • Windows troubleshooting cannot solve the problem.

Thank you, but in view of the amount of work I keep this option as a last resort. Moreover, since this is a new PC, I wonder what caused this issue? To reset the PC and run into the same issue a month or so later (assuming it fixes the issue) is a risk.

One question added: can I download in one pacakage all HP utilities this laptop came with from the factory?

@Colenbrander

If you do a System Recovery, by default you will get back all drivers and utilities.

But you can also use the HP Support Assistant to automatically look for all HP Drivers, BIOS, Firmware updates

Problem disappeared "spontaneously". Probably a driver / update issue.
