HP Pavilion All-in-One - 24-k0003na
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I turned on my PC this morning and there is no sound. I have ran  basic  audio diagnostics tools and advanced tools using HP virtual assistant.  Still no sound.  Can anyone help, is it a known issue?  I really need this PC as my wife and I rely on it for work.

Thanks in advance

Ian

Good morning,

Thank-you for the response. My problem has now got a lot worse. After a reboot my system has  got a blue screen with " critical process died" error message. I have ran all the advanced diagnostics and they all pass.  The system will not boot up properly.

Thanks

Ian

I do not understand everything ..
You lost the sound, but nothing special (a windows update or something else)?
the tests did not give any results ..
now the computer gives an error message (nothing more than what you specified), but after performing the diagnostic tests you have no hardware problems, is that correct?
Do you know which version of windows you have (exact version 1909 2004?)
Try a restart in safe mode

these basic solutions don't work. there is some issue with the sound connected to windows updates.

Your blue screen death appears to be connected to two conflicting drivers being installed:

"If you are using Realtek, DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, INSTALL "Realtek High Definition Audio Version: 6.0.1.8531 [9/4/2018]". Instead, install "Realtek High Definition Audio Version: 6.0.1.8186 [6/14/2017]". Installing the former WILL result in a Blue Screen of Death with System Service Exception Stop (culprit: rtkvhd64.sys)"

And as you can see in the responses people are having massive issues with Windows and sound features....

What if we waited to see!
With the computer frozen, restarting in safe mode, and very often a good way to restart.
So let's see, if it helps or not to restart before moving on
"If you are using Realtek, DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, INSTALL" Realtek High Definition Audio Version: 6.0.1.8531 [9/4/2018] ". Instead, install" Realtek High Definition Audio Version: 6.0.1.8186
