My new Desktop makes notification/disconnect noises frequently when the screen is off.  I have shut off all the notifications I can and it still makes the noise. The only way that we have kept from going crazy is to turn off the sound! Any insight or things to try is welcomed!

 Thanks.

@Tallmantanner
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,  I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Try to disable sound for notifications using Control Panel:

  • Open Control Panel.
  • Click on Hardware and sound.
  • Click the Change system sounds link.
  • Under "Windows," scroll and select Notifications.
  • On the "Sounds," drop-down menu, select (None).
  • Click Apply.
  • Click OK.

Please post back with computer product details: Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824 (Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
