Microsoft Windows 11

We have just purchased an HP OmniStudio and so far all is working well. However, while there is no issue with playing a video or audio file through the speakers, when we plug in a headphone set, there is no sound. We checked the operation of the headphones on 2 other PCs - no problems. I have checked and the volume level on the Win11 PC is ~90%. The Win11 System utility recognizes that headphones have been connected and readily switches between speakers and headphones. All checks on the sound system return no errors, but the test tones in each speaker produces no sound  in the headphones. I have deleted the audio driver and restarted the PC to reinstall the driver, but with no improvement. Our Win11 has been updated since we initially started it up, and automatic updates are active, which would include the replacement driver just mentioned.

Would someone have an idea where I should look next? I'm starting to wonder if the headphone jack has a problem.

Final update, as I now have my headphones working.

I decided to fully power down my PC (remove all power & USB devices, hold pwr button ON for 30sec), then restart it in the BIOS utility (keep pressing Esc key while starting up). Under Component tests I checked out the audio for both speakers and headphones - both worked correctly. Upon Win restart, checked headphones via Settings>Audo - now working. Tried a video - worked just fine.

So, a "deep system purge" seems to have fixed it. Thanks for your patience.

Just to add to the story, I have run quite a few of the HP diagnostic tools available and each time the headphones fail. Speakers work just fine. It's looking more like a hardware issue to me, and I will be contacting HP support for assistance.
