My PC says "No headphones or speakers are plugged in" but the system devices show that there is only an Nvidia sound device. 

 

This occurred when Win10 was reinstalled.   Microsoft says HP should have the proper drivers but the HP site does not show that my computer can have Win10.

You probably need to install the W10 audio driver for your PC.

 

Tempo High-Definition Audio Driver (Original IDT)

 

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71501-72000/sp71717.exe 

 

Restart the PC after installing the driver.
