Hi, I have a problem where the audio is delayed by at least a second when playing a video or sound file through both wired and Bluetooth speakers. I believe that this is a common fault with Omen desktops that use the Realtek driver. I have tried all the "solutions" on other message boards about this problem, such as changing the power options in the registry Solved: System Sound Delay - HP Support Community - 6224970 and installing the Microsoft Audio Driver Fixing Realtek audio driver lag on Windows 10 (neosmart.net) but nothing works!
It is incredibly frustrating as I work as a Computer Animator and doing Lip Sync is incredibly difficult as the sound wont play automatically when I click it. The only work around I have found is to have another video or music playing all the time (so the audio doesn't power down) when I am animating but this obviously isn't ideal. I see that this problem has been ongoing for quite a few years and I am incredibly surprised, HP or Realtek haven't got a solution for this. I'm hoping somebody can help please! Thanks.

This is a good analysis of the problem although it is dated.

The workaround listed are very good. I do not have ErP workaround in my bios but I have disabled power saving devices such as WiFI and Mouse and USB in the Device Manager as I did not want to let them, or anything connected, sleep. I assume this does about the same as that ErP.
Have your tried using your graphics card sound? I am curious if that makes a difference as it is integrated into the graphics card.
I do not know what tools you use but if using Adobe Premier you might want to watch this video

The only time I ever saw a full second of AV loss was after 3 hours of watching a Netflix video thru a Roku. There is no telling where the actual problem resided.
