I understand you have concern with Audio Recording.
You can try to uninstall and reinstall the Sound card drivers and see if it helps.
Click Start and type devmgmt.msc, and then Enter. The Device Manager window opens.
Expand Sound, Video and Game Controllers.
Right click on the sound card and select Uninstall.
Restart the computer and check.
If still does not work,
You can install HP support assistant and this should take care of the Driver related issues forever.
