Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hi Forum, hope you can help. I have a mighty HP Pro 3400 tower desktop, that I do some voice over recording on. As a side note, I recently had Windows 10 installed/upgraded from 7.

Prior to the upgrade and even now, there is a screeching sound when I play audio back on my Sound Forge recordings.  Prior to Sound Forge i had Pro Tools, so even on two different software platforms the high pitched screeching sound that happens occasionally upon audio playback of my recordings. So troubleshooting wise, it can't be the recording platforms i don't think, as I have used two different ones, and still the same problem. Perhaps it is the sound card that needs replacing. What do you think?

Also as a side note, when the notification sounds happen (received an email) the screech happens too.

Thanks you for your feedback.

I am no expert on this, but it sounds like your internal speaker is the problem. Have you tried disabling it and using external speakers?
