The sound on my HP-E243M monitor does not work since I connected it to Geekom AX8 mini pc

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

 

If your HP E243m monitor is not producing sound after connecting it to the Geekom AX8 mini PC, follow the steps below to resolve the issue.

1. Check Audio Playback Settings

Right-click the Speaker icon on the taskbar.

Select Playback devices (or Sound Settings → Sound Control Panel).

Under the Playback tab, look for your monitor’s audio output (may appear as HP E243m or Echo Cancelling Speakerphone).

Select it and click Set Default.

Click OK to save.

 

2. Change or Confirm the Playback Device

If the monitor is not selected as the active audio device, click it once to highlight it.

Click Set Default to make it your primary audio output device.

 

3. Update Sound Drivers

Open Device Manager (Search: Device Manager).

Expand Sound, video and game controllers.

Right-click your audio device.

Select Update driver → Search automatically for drivers.

Allow Windows to install any available updates.

 

4. Check Monitor Volume Settings

Ensure the monitor’s volume is not muted.

Use the monitor’s On-Screen Display (OSD) menu to increase the audio level.

 

5. Verify HDMI or USB Connection

If using HDMI, make sure the HDMI device appears as an audio output in Windows.

Confirm all cables are properly connected and undamaged.

Try a different HDMI or USB cable to rule out cable issues.

 

6. Restart Devices

Restart both the Geekom AX8 mini PC and the HP E243m monitor to refresh the audio and display connection.
