I am using both of the HDMI ports on my monitor - one goes to my PC and one goes to my XBox.

The cable that goes to my computer is an HDMI/mini displayport cable. The HDMI end of the cable is connected to the monitor, and the mini displayport end of the cable is connected to my PC. My PC does not have an HDMI port. I do not have any issues with this connection since the sound is coming from my computer.

My XBox 360 is connected with a regular HDMI cable to the second HDMI port on the monitor.

Is there a way to get sound using my PC speakers when I am using the second HDMI input that is connected to my XBox?

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

To get the answer to this question, this setup won't work as your using both HDMI input ports. However, you can connect speakers to your computer and disable HOMI sound by

  • Right click speaker icon (bottom right corner),
  • Select Playback devices,
  • Right-click HDMI sound and disable.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
