Hey all. I have a now old Envy monitor that I’m not using with a laptop anymore - but I am trying to use it with an Amazon FireStick. I can’t seem to attach speakers to it so I’m not sure it has an audio output at all. Only sockets it has are 3 hdmi and 1 display. I’m probably being stupid but any help would be greatly appreciated.
so far I’ve got speakers that have an usb and headphone jack and I’ve tried various cables to get the usb into hdmi to fit to the monitor - unsurprisingly didn’t work.
if you can point me in the direction of speakers that would work or a magic cable that would be great! Or tell me it’s not possible. That would work too 🙂
thanks
dylan

@DH_22, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding speakers for HP Envy!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
You're not being stupid at all—this is a common issue when using a monitor without built-in speakers. Since your HP Envy monitor does not seem to have an audio output, the best way to get sound while using your Amazon FireStick is through one of the following options:
Use an HDMI Audio Extractor – This device sits between your FireStick and your monitor. It splits the audio from the HDMI signal, allowing you to connect external speakers via a 3.5mm jack or RCA output. Look for an HDMI Audio Extractor with a 3.5mm or RCA output for your speakers.
Use Bluetooth Speakers – If your FireStick supports Bluetooth (which most do), you can pair it directly with Bluetooth speakers or headphones for wireless audio.
Use a Soundbar with HDMI Pass-Through – Some soundbars have an HDMI input and output, allowing them to extract the audio while passing the video signal to your monitor.
I hope this helps! Feel free to reach out if you have more questions.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
