We are currently having an issue with audio sounding distorted and kind of like using a tin can and some string, when audio is playing from desktop to a Wireless Display Solution like Intel Unite, or Vivi. We have tried all versions of the Synaptics Driver from the HP Support page, going back to the Oldest up to the Newest available. We have also tried manipulating the sounds settings (Spatial Off, Sound Effects Off) and multiple other things. We have found that removing the Synaptics Drivers and Selecting the Built-In Microsoft Windows 10 Audio Driver works, and the distortion is gone. However, to make this change it has to be done manually, the .INF drivers for Synaptics could be removed using PNPUtil (PowerShell), then the Built-In driver would automatically take over as highest rank and work, without needing a reboot. However, we would then be required to block Driver Updates from Windows Updates or Enable a GPO setting to block any changes to that Hardware ID, but it doesn't sound like a real feasible option. We feel like this is a bug or issue with the actual driver itself, and needs remedied, but also curious if anyone else has experienced something similar and/or had another suggestion.
