I have a Razer Barracuda Pro Headset that connects via a USB-C dongle. My HP Omen only has 2 USB-C ports on the back of the PC. One is 5 gbps. The other is 10 gbps. When I initially got my headset, my friends I was gaming with were complaining about the quality of my microphone. Also from time to time, the headset would randomly disconnect and I would need to unhook the dongle and hook it back up to reestablish a connection.

To deal with the "bad microphone" I got a HyperX QuadCast S USB A desk mic. So now I had the best of both worlds. Good audio and a microphone that gave me decent quality. The other day though I came home to game and my headset started cutting out randomly. Power cycling it didn't fix the issue. Uninstalling and reinstalling the headset and it's software didn't fix it.

I decided to turn to ChatGPT to diagnose the problem. We ended up in a cycle where connecting the dongle to the PC would give the error message "Windows does not recognize this device" and the device would disappear from the available list of sound devices I could use in windows.

ChatGPT had me test the headset on another computer so I tested it on my Asus Laptop, which connects into the side Thunderbolt USB C port. I had absolutely no audio problems and my friends even said that my mic quality was pretty good with just the headset alone.

I told ChatGPT that I have the following connected:

- 8bitdo Ultimate Controller via USB-A

- Razer Base Station V2 Chroma via USB-A

- HyperX QuadCast S via USB-A

- Be Quiet! Dark Mount keyboard (Which must connect to the USB 3.0 port on the back of the pc)

- Razer Leviathan V2 X Soundbar connected usb c to c into the 5 gbps port.

- The Razer Barracuda Pro wireless dongle is connected into the 10 gbps port.

- USB Downstream connecting 2 monitors to utilize their respective usb hubs.

-An HP Omen 27i  1440p monitor

-An Asus 28" 4k monitor (to the Asus I have the Razer Mouse Dock connected for charging my Razer Viper Ultimate that is connected to one of the top ports on the top of PC)

ChatGPT then told me that I am overloading my motherboard (Which I don't disagree with, I hadn't considered that was possible) but that the USB-C controllers on the HP Omen are known to be faulty.

So ChatGPT's suggestion to me was to get a USB hub that had it's own power supply, that I would connect to the USB C 10gbps port and then that would solve my issues going forward.

I was unable to find one locally and have been weighing my options online. But also I kind of doubt that this is the route to go. The audio does work now but theres weird glitches in it. or it will cut out from time to time. Does anyone else have experience in this?

Thank you and sorry for the long winded post.
