Hi @RMN50,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I understand how frustrating it must be to have your OMEN 27 QS speakers not working, especially when the microphone works but videos have no sound. Let’s try to troubleshoot this together to get everything back to normal.
- Have you checked the sound settings on your computer to ensure the OMEN 27 QS is selected as the default audio output device?
- Does the issue occur with all videos or just specific websites or applications (e.g., YouTube, streaming services)?
- Have you tried connecting your computer to another audio device to rule out any system-wide audio issues?
Let's try these steps.
Check Audio Output Settings: Go to Settings > System > Sound on your computer and make sure the OMEN 27 QS is selected as the default output device. If it’s not, manually select it and test again.
Test with Different Media:
Try playing audio from different sources (like a local media file, a video from a different website, or a different app) to check if the issue is isolated to specific content or applications.
Update Audio Drivers:
Sometimes outdated or missing drivers can cause issues. Go to Device Manager, find your Sound, video and game controllers, and update your audio drivers. Alternatively, you can visit the HP website or your graphics card manufacturer’s site to download the latest drivers.
Check Monitor’s Volume Settings:
Ensure that the volume on the OMEN 27 QS monitor is not muted or set too low. You can adjust the volume through the monitor's on-screen display menu.
Reboot and Reconnect:
Restart your computer to see if the issue is resolved. Additionally, try unplugging and reconnecting the HDMI or DisplayPort cable to ensure a secure connection between your computer and the monitor.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
