Hi @AutumnEyez,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

It sounds like your HP Pavilion AiO PC 27-ca2000i is experiencing low audio volume again, similar to the issue you had before. Since reinstalling the sound driver helped in the past, it could be the solution this time as well. Here's a step-by-step guide to resolve this issue and boost your audio output:

1. Reinstall the Audio Driver

  • Download the correct audio driver for your specific PC model from the HP Support website:
    1. Go to the HP Support page.
    2. Enter your PC model: HP Pavilion AiO PC 27-ca2000i.
    3. Navigate to Drivers and look for the Audio drivers (typically Realtek or similar).
  • Download and install the driver, then restart your PC.

2. Update the Audio Driver via Device Manager

Expand Sound, video and game controllers.

  • Right-click on the audio device (e.g., Realtek High Definition Audio) and select Update Driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
  • After updating, restart your PC.

3. Check Volume Mixer Settings

  • Right-click the Speaker icon in the taskbar and select Open Volume Mixer.
  • Ensure that all sliders (for speakers, system sounds, and applications) are turned up.
  • Check that no apps are muted or have low volume settings.

4. Enhance Sound Settings

  • Right-click the Speaker icon in the taskbar and choose Sounds.
  • In the Playback tab, select your speakers and click Properties.
  • Under the Enhancements tab, check if any enhancements like Loudness Equalization are available. Turn it on to boost the audio output.
  • Click Apply and then OK.

Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

Hi @AutumnEyez,

Please find the remaining steps below.

5. Change Default Format Settings

  • In the same Properties window under the Advanced tab, try changing the Default Format to a higher bit rate (e.g., 24-bit, 48000 Hz) and test the audio again.

6. Check Audio Service

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Find Windows Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint Builder in the list. Ensure both services are running.
  • If not, right-click on them and select Start. If they are running, try restarting them.

7. Run Windows Audio Troubleshooter

  • Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other Troubleshooters.
  • Run the Playing Audio troubleshooter to let Windows detect and possibly fix any audio issues.

8. BIOS/UEFI Settings

  • Check if there’s an update to your BIOS/UEFI that might affect audio performance.
  • Visit the HP Support website and search for any BIOS updates for your system, then follow the update process.

9. External Speakers/Headphones

  • Test with external speakers or headphones to confirm if the issue is specific to the built-in speakers or affects all audio devices.
  • If external audio devices work fine, it could indicate a hardware problem with the internal speakers.

10. System Restore (Optional)

  • If you noticed the issue started after a recent update or change, consider performing a System Restore to revert the PC to a time when the audio worked properly:
    • Press Windows + R, type rstrui, and press Enter. Select a restore point and follow the prompts.

Even if your warranty has expired, you can contact HP Support for further assistance. They may offer support options for out-of-warranty repairs or other service plans.
