M24fw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Why does Windows 10 detect M24fw as an available audio output device (connected via HDMI) when it has no built-in speakers?

I missed half a webinar trying to resolve an audio issue which should have never existed. Was boring anyway 😛

In the end I disabled the "M24fw speakers" which windows had apparently detected as an audio device in sound settings and the sound was put back through my PC speakers.

Offered as feedback to HP and hope it may be useful to others who may have encountered the same issue.

Hi

it s curious

the only reason I can see would be that you actually have this model:

Audio-out (headphone) jack Connects headphones, earbuds, or an audio cable.

Never had this type of problem with a screen without speakers
I had with, and without, and each time, there was the option only if speakers are present
