HP Spectre x360 - 13-ae014dx
Microsoft Windows 11

I had a new hard drive put into my HP SPECCTRE 360 last week.

Now I find that there is a hardware issue with the internal speakers.

Can I download the Band & Olufsen system again

Hi @hockeygol,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

To address the hardware issue with the internal speakers and reinstall the Bang & Olufsen audio system on your HP Spectre X360 - 13-Ae014dx, follow these steps:

Step 1: Update Audio Drivers

Go to HP's Support Website:

  • Visit the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads.

Find Your Device:

  • Enter "HP Spectre X360 - 13-Ae014dx" in the search bar and select your specific model from the list.

Select Your Operating System:

  • Choose the correct version of Windows you are using.

Download and Install Audio Drivers:

  • Locate the audio driver section, and download the latest driver for your audio system. Look for drivers related to "Realtek High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver" or any driver mentioning Bang & Olufsen.

Step 2: Install Bang & Olufsen Software

Download the Bang & Olufsen Audio Control:

  • If the audio driver includes the Bang & Olufsen control panel, installing the driver should automatically install the control panel. Otherwise, you can often find the Bang & Olufsen Audio Control software on the same driver download page.

Install the Software:

  • Once downloaded, run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Step 3: Update BIOS and Other Drivers (Optional but Recommended)

Update BIOS:

  • Check for any available BIOS updates for your model on the same HP support page. Keeping your BIOS up-to-date can resolve hardware compatibility issues.

Update Other Drivers:

  • Ensure all other drivers are up-to-date, especially the chipset drivers, which can affect hardware performance.

Step 4: Troubleshoot Hardware Issues

If updating the drivers and installing the Bang & Olufsen software does not resolve the speaker issue, you can try these troubleshooting steps:

Check Audio Settings:

  • Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select "Open Sound settings."
  • Ensure the correct playback device is selected.
  • Click "Device properties" and check if any enhancements are enabled that might affect speaker performance.

Run Audio Troubleshooter:

  • Go to "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Troubleshoot."
  • Select "Playing Audio" and run the troubleshooter to detect and fix audio problems.

Check Speaker Hardware:

  • Ensure the speakers are properly connected internally (if you recently installed a new hard drive, a loose connection might be the cause).

If the problem persists after these steps, there might be a more significant hardware issue, and you may need to contact HP  phone Support for further assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
