On my old computer, I used an external cd player to input to the computer through the input jack on the back of the computer to play through to the speakers I had connected to the output jack on the back. I also used the audio to input to my AVS audio editor. None of this is working now. I can hook the cd output to the speakers, and it works fine but I have eliminated the computer and my ability to edit the music.

hi
sorry, unable to identify the model of the computer
You can have either of these motherboards
but if for one it is mentioned "line in", for the other nothing precise, there is just: (2) Audio ports
so either you don't have an audio input or a configuration problem!

The desktop is, supposedly HP newest desktop for 2022. I copied it exactly from my warranty information. I don't have any idea as to the motherboard in the computer. I can tell you that the processor is a Ryzen 3. As previously stated, I have been using the same setup for several years, it was working fine on my last computer which had a hard drive crash. Both, the input and output have been checked and they both work except when plugged in to the mini jack ports for input and output on the HP desktop. Thanks.

I don't quite understand what you tell me next, it seems to confirm that you have an audio input, but:
"Both, the input and output have been checked and they both work"
except when plugged in to the mini jack ports for input and output on the HP desktop. Thanks."
there I am not what you do and say exactly, what connection exactly?
