Hello! I have an OMEN 45L with i7 processor (Bought from Bestbuy Nov 2022). there was no issues with the computer until today. My mic stopped working, rather 1%~2% of sound recognition when clicked "test mic". i had no problem communicating with friends online gaming the night before. I've tried everything I can to fix the issue and I simply cannot figure out how to fix it.
I tried: updating drivers (all are upto date), check mic input volume (it's set to 100% + even found ways to boost it, still dont work)....
it'll be awesome if someone can suggest an option before i bring the machine to hp or bestbuy for warranty

Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand that you getting issued with the mic in your notebook, I am glad to assist you.
Update the Bios, chipset, and drivers using HP Support Assistant.
Download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: Click here
- HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook
- Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
- Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
- Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
- Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
- Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
Also, ensure Windows is up to date.
- Select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available
Let me know how it goes.

Hi Sandy!
Thank you for your reply and your tips!
Unfortunately, the problem is only with the 3.5mm jack ports (front and back) and while using USB devices, it works fine. My usb wireless headphone mic works fine and even when i use 3.5mm jack to usb adapter, it works fine too. I suspect it may be hardware issue and ultimately has to be fixed by warranty.
HP support agent connected remotely and tried to update my settings and even updated bios, it did not help so the solution was to submit my PC for warranty hardware repair.
thanks again!
