Example: Pavilion Z5L88AA#ABA
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Trying to get my headset mic working. I can listen, but the mic doesn't connect.

The headset connects with two 3.5mm pins to the appropriate spaces on the back of the PC. I checked with another device and the headset works OK.

I have a Logitech C615 HD webcam connected by USB and it's mic works, but the input audio is lousy for recording.

How can I trouble-shoot to define the problem?

Grateful for your guidance!

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

  • Step 1: Check the microphone hardware
  • Step 2: Update the audio driver
  • Step 3: Use the Troubleshooting tool
  • Step 4: Configure the sound settings in Windows
