Hi @sahithi78 ,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP laptop Bluetooth connection issue with your earbuds.

Unable to connect earbuds to an HP laptop is often caused by outdated drivers, power management issues, or pairing conflicts.

I hope this helps. Let’s go through a few checks.

1. Reinstall/Update Bluetooth Drivers (Most Effective)
  1. Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand the Bluetooth section.
  3. Right-click your Bluetooth adapter (e.g., Intel, Realtek, or Qualcomm Atheros) and select Uninstall device. Check "Attempt to remove the driver" if prompted.
  4. Restart your laptop to force Windows to reinstall the driver.
2. Check Bluetooth Services
  1. Press Windows Key + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
  2. Find Bluetooth Support Service, right-click it, and select Restart.
  3. Double-click it, set Startup type to Automatic, then click Apply.
3. Adjust Power Management
  1. In Device Manager, right-click your Bluetooth adapter and select Properties.
  2. Go to the Power Management tab.
  3. Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
4. Remove and Re-pair
  1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
  2. Find your earbuds in the list, click them, and select Remove device.
  3. Turn your earbuds off and on again, then click Add device to pair them fresh.
5. Clear Pairing Conflicts
If your earbuds were previously connected to a phone nearby, they might be connecting to the phone automatically instead of your laptop. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone during the pairing process.

I hope this helps.

Hi @sahithi78,

I understand this is frustrating, especially since it still isn’t resolved.

Let’s try a few additional things that usually fix this:

First, reset your earbuds completely and put them back into pairing mode. Make sure they are not connected to your phone or any other device nearby, as they may automatically reconnect to those instead of your laptop.

On your laptop, go to Bluetooth settings and remove your earbuds from the list. Turn Bluetooth off, then back on, and try adding the device again.

You can also go into Device Manager, disable your Bluetooth adapter, then enable it again. This refreshes the connection and can help with pairing issues.

If the earbuds do connect but there’s no sound, check your sound settings and make sure they are selected as the output device.

If it’s still not working, let me know if the earbuds show up in the Bluetooth list or not, that will help narrow down the issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀

Best regards,

I'm an HP Employee.

Please comfirn, do you see bluetooth toggle or not? If not then this is not an earpods issue. Your laptop itself is not detecting bluetooth in your device.
