I see my headphone connected via BT but no sound comes.
It is strange that if I use the built in recorder then I can hear the sounds.
But as soon as I close recorder than the head phones are mute.
I already removed and installed again all BT drivers.
I run trouble shooting.
Connect ena disconnect adn reconnect headphones via BT
NO Sound!
I discovered also that if I open the Recording tab in Audio Advanced settings (see screen shot) then the headphones works!!!
But asap I close that Audio Setting clicking on OK, then after a while the headphone mute again!!!
I searched help and solution here:
but without any solution.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Hi @passegua123 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your Bluetooth headphones are experiencing an issue with their default audio configuration or priority in Windows 11. Here's a structured approach to resolve the issue:
1. Verify Default Playback Device
- Right-click the sound icon in the system tray and select Sound settings.
- Under Output, ensure that your Bluetooth headphones are selected as the default output device.
- Test the audio output.
2. Adjust Audio Properties
- Open Control Panel > Sound > Playback tab.
- Locate your Bluetooth headphones, right-click them, and select Properties.
- Go to the Enhancements tab and:
- Check Disable all sound effects.
- Apply the changes.
- Under the Advanced tab:
- Set the default format to a standard setting, e.g., 24-bit, 44100 Hz (Studio Quality).
- Test the sound.
3. Update or Roll Back Drivers
- Remove the existing driver:
- Open Device Manager > Expand Bluetooth > Right-click your headphones and select Uninstall device.
- Restart your computer to reinstall the driver.
- Visit the HP Support Website to download the latest Bluetooth and audio drivers for your HP OmniStudio X.
- Test the connection again.
4. Configure Audio Services
- Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Find these services and ensure they are running:
- Bluetooth Audio Gateway Service
- Windows Audio
- Windows Audio Endpoint Builder
- If stopped, right-click and choose Start. Set the startup type to Automatic.
5. Resolve Conflicting Applications
Some apps like recording software or third-party audio tools may interfere with audio output:
- Close all recording apps and third-party sound managers.
- Test whether the headphones work consistently.
6. Test with Other Devices
Connect the headphones to another device (e.g., a smartphone) to confirm if the issue is PC-specific.
7. Reset Bluetooth Settings
- Unpair and re-pair your headphones:
- Go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices and remove the headphones.
- Pair the headphones again.
- Reset your headphones to factory settings (refer to the manual).
8. Advanced Troubleshooting
- Open Device Manager > Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
- Right-click your audio device (not Bluetooth) and select Update driver.
- Disable any unused audio devices:
- Go to Control Panel > Sound > Playback tab.
- Right-click and disable devices you’re not using.
9. Temporary Workaround: Keep Audio Settings Open
Since the issue resolves when the Recording tab is open:
- Keep the Sound settings window open as a temporary measure while further troubleshooting.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I keep open the audio recording tab as in the screenshot.
So I can perfectly hear through my BT connected Headphones.
This is a strange work around because if I close that tab and open tehe Tab Play or close the window clicking on OK then the sounds stops.
Very strange i suppose there must be a simpler solution.
