why is there no  ability to hook up a 5.1 surround sound on this computer???

Hi,

 

Your MB (Link) supports 5.1 surround sound.

 

Check this site (Link) to see if it helps using 5.1 audio with limited jack options.

 

Your MB has an open PCIe x1 slot. You can install a discrete 5.1 soundcard there.

 

You may have to disable onboard audio in the BIOS after installing this card.
