Hi @kbm92111,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To turn on the microphone on your HP Pavilion 27" QHD All-in-One running Windows 11 Pro, follow these steps:
Enable the Microphone in Windows 11
Check Physical Switch: First, check if there’s a physical switch or key on your device that controls the microphone. Some models have a dedicated microphone mute button.
Open Settings:
- Click on the Start menu (Windows icon) at the bottom left of your screen.
- Select Settings (gear icon).
Go to System Settings:
- In the Settings window, click on System.
Select Sound:
- In the left sidebar, click on Sound.
Microphone Settings:
- Scroll down to the Input section. You should see your microphone listed under "Choose your input device."
- Ensure the correct microphone is selected. If it’s disabled, click on it and toggle the switch to turn it on.
Privacy Settings:
- Go back to Settings and click on Privacy & security.
- Under App permissions, select Microphone.
- Make sure that microphone access is turned on for your device and that the apps you want to use the microphone with have permission to access it.
Test the Microphone
In the Sound settings under the Input section, you can test the microphone by speaking into it and checking if the input level moves.
You can also use applications like Voice Recorder to test if the microphone is working.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
