hp 24fw with audio 24 inch display
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have 2 24 inch monitors with audio linked to my laptop via a docking station. i have run the audio cable from just one of my monitors to the docking station. the sound only comes out of my laptop and not the monitor. the only 2 choices i have for audio is: Speakers (USB Audio) or Speakers (conexant ISST Audio) I have tried both options and in all cases the sound comes out of my laptop and not the monitors. What am i missing?

@vantrav,

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are not getting audio from the monitor speakers.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

What cable are you using to connect the monitor and the commuter? (HDMI or VGA)

Have you installed the monitor drivers?

While you answer that, I recommend you connect the cable from the monitor directly to the computer and check whether you are getting sound from the monitor speakers.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Thank you for the support. I am using the HDMI cable. When i plug it into my laptop then the sound works. When i plug it into my docking station the sound converts to my laptop speaker.
