@Nour_Taw, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're having trouble with your 3.5mm microphone not working on your HP Desktop, even though it works on another PC. Let's go through some steps to troubleshoot and resolve this issue.

Check the Audio Jack

  • Ensure the microphone is plugged into the correct pink 3.5mm jack (usually the mic input).
  • If your desktop has both front and rear jacks, try both to rule out a faulty port.

Set Microphone as Default

  1. Right-click the sound icon in the taskbar and select Sounds.
  2. Go to the Recording tab.
  3. If your microphone appears, right-click it and select Set as Default Device.
  4. Speak into the mic and check if the green bars move.

Enable and Configure Microphone

  1. In the Recording tab, right-click and ensure Show Disabled Devices is checked.
  2. If your mic is disabled, right-click and choose Enable.
  3. Double-click the mic > go to Levels tab > increase the volume and boost.

Update Audio Drivers

  1. Open Device Manager (right-click Start > Device Manager).
  2. Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
  3. Right-click your audio device (e.g., Realtek) > Update driver > Search automatically.

Alternatively, you can download the latest drivers from HP: Official HP® Drivers and Software Download | HP® Support

Run Windows Troubleshooter

  1. Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
  2. Run the Recording Audio troubleshooter.

Check Privacy Settings

  1. Go to Settings > Privacy & security > Microphone.
  2. Ensure Microphone access is turned On.
  3. Also allow apps to access the microphone.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
