I started my computer today and found that the audio isnt working. Need to install a new audio device.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

 

Let's check a few things before reinstalling the audio device.

 

Check Audio Settings

  1. Click on the Speaker icon in the system tray (bottom right).
  2. Ensure the correct audio output device is selected.
  3. Increase the volume if it's muted or too low.

Restart Audio Services

  1. Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  2. Scroll down and find:
    • Windows Audio
    • Windows Audio Endpoint Builder
  3. Right-click each and select Restart.

Check Device Manager

  1. Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Sound, video, and game controllers.
  3. If you see a yellow triangle on the audio device:
    • Right-click it and choose Update driverSearch automatically.
    • If that doesn’t work, choose Uninstall device, then restart the PC.

Install HP Audio Drivers

  1. Go to HP Support.
  2. Enter your PC model and download the latest audio drivers.
  3. Install and restart your PC.
