@ahmed256256378, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
I understand how frustrating it can be when your microphone stops working, especially if you're confident it's a hardware issue and your warranty has expired. Let's walk through a few steps to confirm the issue and explore your options:
Even if you suspect a hardware fault, it's worth double-checking the following:
Check Sound Settings
- Go to Settings > System > Sound.
- Under Input, make sure the correct microphone is selected.
- Click Device Properties and ensure the volume is turned up and not muted.
Run HP Hardware Diagnostics
HP provides a built-in tool to test hardware components:
- Restart your laptop and press F2 repeatedly to enter HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.
- Select Component Tests > Audio > Microphone Test.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Update or Reinstall Audio Drivers
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Audio inputs and outputs.
- Right-click your microphone and choose Update driver.
- Alternatively, uninstall the device and restart your PC to reinstall it automatically.
You can also use HP Support Assistant to check for driver updates: HP Support Assistant | HP® Support
If the issue persists, we suggest you please visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.
I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.
Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
